BISP Cash Transgender People: The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) is supporting low-income groups, notably transgender people, who are especially vulnerable, by providing them with financial assistance. The government of Pakistan has introduced new measures to ensure transgender people can receive this support.
Registration Started For BISP Cash Transgender Program:
The BISP Cash Transgender Program is designed to address the specific needs of transgender individuals. BISP tehsil offices are actively involved in simplifying the registration process for them, reserving Saturdays for their convenience. This special arrangement seeks to make registration easier and remove any obstacles for transgender people.
Benazir Kafaalat Masawat Program:
The recent meeting chaired by BISP Chairman Dr. Amjad Sajid stressed the commitment of the program to support all families, including transgender individuals. It highlighted the need to enhance payment and registration systems for inclusivity. Under the newly introduced Benazir Khawajasara Program, transgender individuals are urged to register at their nearest Tehsil Office on Saturdays, submitting necessary documents for verification at the BISP office.
New Registration Method for BISP Transgender People:
The registration method for financial assistance involves verifying one’s National Identity Card issued by Nadra, ensuring that the gender marker reflects transgender identity. After this, individuals must visit their nearest tehsil office to confirm eligibility and undergo a dynamic survey. Once these steps are completed, individuals await confirmation via SMS through the designated number (8171) to begin receiving financial assistance.
Documents Required For Benazir Khawajasara Program:
To register with BISP, new applicants need to submit various documents at the BISP Tehsil Office. These include a valid CNIC registered with Nadra, household documents like electricity and gas bills, a recent photograph, and proof of transgender identity.
Eligibility Criteria:
The eligibility for the Benazir Masawat Program requires meeting specific criteria, such as holding a CNIC indicating transgender status, providing a disability certificate, having a monthly income under 30,000 rupees, no government employment within the family, possessing a registered SIM linked to the CNIC, and obtaining a PMT score below 40%.
