The Punjab Free Bike Scheme, announced by the Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz, aims to provide convenient transportation solutions for students across the province. Under this initiative, more than 20,000 electric and petrol bikes will be distributed to students, easing their commute to colleges and universities.

Eligibility For Bike Scheme in Punjab:
This scheme is exclusively for students residing in Punjab who are enrolled in any college or university within the province. Initially, the scheme will be rolled out in major cities before expanding to cover the entire Punjab region.
Total No. of Bikes and Distribution:
The Chief Minister has allocated 20,000 bikes for distribution, comprising 19,000 petrol bikes and 1,000 electric bikes. The distribution plan ensures transparency, with equal opportunities for both urban and rural students. In urban areas, distribution will be split evenly between male and female students, while in rural areas, a 70:30 ratio has been established favoring male students.

Bikes Distribution Process:
To ensure fairness, the bike distribution process will be transparent. Applications will be accepted until May 2024, following which a draw will be conducted to select recipients. Bikes will be delivered to the chosen students within the same month.
