On Friday, Pakistan announced that petrol prices would remain unchanged for the next two weeks, while diesel prices were reduced by Rs1.77 per litre. The Finance Division released a statement late Friday night, indicating that the new diesel price would be Rs285.56 per litre, effective until March 31.
According to reports, the price of kerosene oil has also seen a reduction of Rs1.35 per litre, bringing it to Rs188.86 per litre, while the price of light diesel has been cut by Rs2.12 per litre.
Outgoing Caretaker Govt Announced New Petrol, And Diesel Prices:
Currently, the government applies a Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) of Rs60 per litre on petrol. Additionally, consumers pay Rs5.69 per litre as Internal Freight Equalization Margin (IFEM), Rs7.87 per litre as OMCs margin, and Rs8.64 per litre as dealers’ margin.
Similarly, the government imposes a Rs60 per litre PDL on High-Speed Diesel (HSD). Consumers of HSD in vehicles also incur Rs4.24 per litre as IFEM, Rs7.87 per litre as OMCs margin, and Rs8.64 per litre as dealers’ margin.
