The caretaker government in Pakistan has opted to increased petrol prices across the nation for the forthcoming fortnight, spanning from March 1st to March 15th, 2024. The adjustment encompasses an increase in the prices of petrol, while the rate for high-speed diesel (HSD) remains unaffected.
As of March 1st, 2024, the new price of petrol has increased by Rs. 4.13 per litre, setting it at Rs. 279.75 per litre. Conversely, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) remains stable at Rs. 287.33 per litre.

Here’s a breakdown of the revised prices effective March 1st, 2024:
- Petrol: Rs. 275.62 to Rs. 279.75 (+ Rs. 4.13)
- High Speed Diesel (HSD): Rs. 287.33 (no change)

The new updated prices will take effect from Friday, March 1st, 2024, marking the commencement of the month’s first half.
The Finance Division, in its notification, explained, “In line with the biweekly adjustment of petroleum product prices and upon the recommendation of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the Government of Pakistan has decided to implement revised consumer prices, effective March 1st, 2024.”
During the previous review cycle, the caretaker Federal Government had increased petrol prices by Rs. 2.73 per litre, reaching Rs. 275.62 per litre, and increased the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs. 8.37 per litre, setting it at Rs. 287.33 per litre.
