The Punjab government has started registering students for a scheme to provide 20,000 bikes across the province under the Chief Minister Youth Initiative.
Number of Bikes Offered Under the Punjab Motorcycle Scheme 2024:
The government initiative involves distributing 19,000 petrol bikes and 1,000 e-bikes through the Bank of Punjab via an interest-free installment plan. To support this, the provincial government has allocated a subsidy of Rs1 billion for interest-free bikes.
Eligibility Criteria for Motorcycle Scheme:
The interest-free motorcycle scheme in Punjab is available for students enrolled in degree colleges and universities. Applicants, who must be currently enrolled as regular students in degree programs at recognized institutions, can apply online at bikes.punjab.gov.pk until April 29. Verification of student status will be done by their educational institution.
List of Punjab Cities to Apply for the Motorcycle Scheme in Phase 1:
In Phase 1 of the scheme, students living in five cities—Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, and Lahore—are eligible to apply for a motorcycle.
