Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has launched a new initiative to provide financial assistance to poor families under the Ehsaas program. This program provides Rs 25,000 to each family, which is a beneficial measure by the government of Pakistan. The 8171 web portal allows all Pakistanis to easily register and allows them to check their eligibility. The portal was initially created for those who lost their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic and helps people get financial assistance during difficult times.
- Registration is easy: just download and fill out a form on the official website or send a message to 8171 to receive assistance automatically.
- In the first phase of the program, the government distributed Rs 12,000 to citizens.
- After realizing the need for additional assistance, the amount was increased to Rs 14,000 in the second phase that began in 2020.

Eligibility Criteria
This program is for individuals who do not have significant assets or government jobs. If individuals have not received news about their status, it may be because they already own property or work in the government. In addition, former beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program may not be eligible for this initiative, which focuses on those affected by recent disasters.
Ehsaas Program Payment Updates
July and August payments will be distributed across Pakistan over the next 15 days. The Sindh and Punjab governments have confirmed the transfer of Rs 25,000 to eligible accounts. Payments can be received at home, HBL ATMs, or HBL e-franchise centers.
